Stephen Sondheim (1930-2021) was a legendary composer and lyricist who is credited for reinventing the American musical. Some of his best-known works are West Side Story, Gypsy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Assassins, and Passion.
